Bankdata has appointed Shrabony Basu as its new Vice President of Capital Market Platform & Regulation. She will take up the position on 1 September 2026 and will be responsible for Bankdata’s platforms and solutions within the capital markets area.

Shrabony Basu joins from BEC Financial Technologies, where she has worked for almost six years. During her time there, she has headed Securities Trading and, most recently, Investment & Markets. Before that, she spent ten years working with business development at Jyske Bank. Earlier in her career, she also served as a branch manager at India’s second-largest private bank.

“Shrabony brings extensive experience from the financial sector and from the intersection of banking, technology and regulation, combined with leadership experience across India, Denmark and Poland. I very much look forward to bringing her experience and perspectives into Bankdata,” says Christian Wiese, Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, Finance & Risk.

Modernising the capital markets area
At Bankdata, one of Shrabony Basu’s key responsibilities will be to continue the transformation of the capital markets area. This includes operating the capital markets platform as well as modernising the systems surrounding it.

Bankdata’s capital markets platform is based on Murex MX.3 and has been extensively customised and further developed for Bankdata’s banks. It is used by more than 200 specialists across the banks and processes trades worth around DKK 300 billion per day. The platform covers key parts of the process for areas including foreign exchange and derivatives, from trading and risk management to settlement, accounting and reporting.

Throughout her career, Shrabony Basu has worked with investment, trading and post-trade platforms, giving her experience from both the business side of banking and the technology solutions underpinning capital markets activities.

Where technology, regulation and business meet
Capital markets are shaped by technological change, regulatory requirements and the need for stable operations. According to Shrabony Basu, it is precisely the combination of these three areas that makes the field particularly interesting.

“Capital markets are an area where technology, regulation and business come together in real time. It is complex, dynamic and requires both precision and rapid execution. I am fascinated by how even small changes in regulation, technology or market behaviour can have a major impact on banks’ ability to serve their customers and manage risk,” she says.

Leadership experience across several countries
Shrabony Basu will become part of Capital Markets, Finance & Risk, led by Senior Vice President Christian Wiese. According to Basu, her experience working across different countries and cultures has also influenced her leadership style.

“From my time in India, I brought with me structure and a strong work ethic. From my years in the Danish financial sector, I have learned the value of flat organisational structures, trust and consensus. That combination has made me more adaptable, a better listener and better equipped to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, which is a core part of a role like this,” she says.
